Tree of the Prophets
MessengerProphet 7 of 25

Lut peace be upon him

Ibrahim's nephew, who believed in him and migrated with him. He was sent to the people of Sodom, who committed an indecency no one had done before; they were destroyed and he was saved with his family except his wife.

Rasul (messenger): a prophet sent with a message to a people. Marked here when the Quran explicitly calls him a messenger; scholars also count others, such as Dawud, who was given the Zabur. Nabi (prophet): one who receives revelation from Allah. Every messenger is a prophet, but not every prophet is a messenger.
